As you know i have an suzuki RGV 250.
I also have 3 karts
So, i am seriously thinking of instaling my mito engine on a kart, and instaling the RGV 250 engine on my mito.
Is there any information about the swap?
Don't want 350 or 500. Just the RGV 250 engine.

i donn't think it 'll work because the rgv engine is a v-twin, thus much longer so i don't think it'll fit.
you could also have problems fitting the radiator ,because even if it fits the engine will leave you little space between the front piston and the wheel.
you could try and put mito forks and swing arm on the rgv frame.
what side is the chain in the rgv on?

We never did such tests. And we never had sophisticated instruments. 'Try and see' was always used. And no simulations! (CIT. Jan Thiel)

RGV 250 is more brutal. Maybe the RD350 engine fits better on the mito frame, but i like most the 250.
If i do that, i will have to put 2 brake discs on the front.
And i don't want it to be nissin or other. Brembo, like the original.
Does anyone know what is the easy way to do that?

for what concern the engine... if you want rgv's performance... add rgv cilinder unit on the rd350 base... good performance and very compact engine!!! rd 350 has 54mm stroke and in cilinder lamellar distribution... like rgv (or aprilia rs 125!)! (inglese sempre più maccheronico!!!)

where have you seen that?
RGV cilinder on RD350 engine...? Is it bolt on? or do you need to adapt it?
I dont think it is a good idea. The exhaust system would have to be diferent from the RD350 and RG 250.
They would have to be RD form and RGV mesures.
And that is equal to spend more €
I dont want to spend too much money.
About the brake, i can instal RGV forks, or maybe the ducati. You were talking about ducati monster right?
All pf these must be used material. And i want to mantain my stearing damper...that was expensive.

a really really fine construction, better than jolly and crc in my opinion (maybe it don't works well,but.... it's contructed very very good)
meybe it's a Tyga exhaust...? or a special arrow??
in any way, if you want to fit some other forks you don't have to throw away your steering damper, but you only need to drill a hole in the upper fork plate ad join the damper with the hole....
or, if you want a good job you weld a nut to the plate (maybe with an adjustable arm) and fit the dumper to it...
non oso pensare quanti errori ho fatto.. speriamo che abbia capito!
Allo stesso modo non è vero che qualunque cosa è stata già pensata, provata e giudicata negativa.

Don't want 350 or 500. Just the RGV 250 engine.
I've already seen such a transplant, although for few minutes only, but I must say that it works VERY well.
The guy who had performed it told me that it had been quite a straightforward job, as the two triangular brackets of the Mito frame help a lot in sorting out suitable fixing point for many engines, as it can be seen in the picture of the "work-in-progress" Mito/RGV.
I don't know if the guy was just bragging or pulling my leg, but he told me that the whole job had taken him a full working week: started on Monday and on the road on Saturday morning.
As lons as I was told, using standard Mito back wheel the chain line can be kept by simply using a spacer between RGV case and Mito swingarm, as the mito case is very large (106mm including the bushes, if my memory doesn't fail). Another spacer will be needed on the RH side between case and swingarm. If the case is larger than 106mm some milling will have to be performed, but not with the RGV engine, as far as I can remember.
One thing you'll have to pay attention to is the swingarm pivot, as the Mito swingarm axle is a pretty big Ø14mm, and I'm quite sure you'll have to make a steel bush and insert it into the swingarm pivot of the RGV case in place of the original Suzuki item, but that's an easy job.
One thing you might find difficult to sort out is the LH carburettor, which sits against the shock absorber, and I must be honest: I can't remember how the guy solved the problem. I'd say Suzuki RM125 reed valves and inlet rubber manifold, but I wouldn't swear on it.
Exhaust pipes go out both on the RH side, and standard Suzuki or Aprilia items can be used/adapted.
Kickstart lever can be kept in its place and only a little cut in the Mito fairing is needed, but I've seen that the RGV engine, when carburettors and sparkplugs are OK, is very easy to be bumpstarted.
Unfortunately the day I met the guy with the Mito/RGV I didn't have my camera with me.
To cut a long story short, I don't think it's going to be a very difficult job, as long as you have a good (i.e. solid) workbench you can place the motorbike on, since some careful measurements have to be performed.
Actually I'm working on another Mito project, but the next one in my to-do list would be the RGV "transplant".
Have a nice time and keep me updated on the project.
One final question: what engine are you going to install on the Suzuki frame?
Bye!
Steve
